While it’s true that we’re already getting into the Fall spirit at CFL, we’re still soaking up every bit of Summer that we can! We’re not quite ready to give up that Summer glow or say farewell to days by the pool, sundresses, and all the frozé!
One thing I love about Summer is all the delicious produce that’s in season. I love snacking on black cherries, grapes, berries, and peaches. I also LOVE making acaí bowls! Acaí berries are packed full of antioxidants, and when you combine them with other fruits, berries, and toppings, you can’t go wrong! They’re fun and easy to make, and pretty to look at too! We put together a basic recipe so you can make your own acaí bowl at home. They’re refreshing, nutritious, and the perfect Summer treat!
First, you’ll start with making your base in the blender. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 frozen packet of unsweetened acaí pureé (I love these!)
- 3/4 cup of frozen berries
- 1/2 banana (save the other half for toppings!)
- 1/2 tbs of honey
- 1/4 cup of greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup of apple juice or orange juice
Toss all the ingredients above in a blender. Blend until you get a thick and creamy consistency. *Tip: If you’re feeling ambitious and want to add some more nutrients to your bowl, you can blend in protein powder and/or a cup of greens like kale or spinach.
Next, it’s time to add toppings! You can get as fancy as you want with this, but here’s what I typically like to top mine with:
- 1/2 banana, sliced
- granola with coconut flakes
- chia seeds
- sliced strawberries
- honey drizzle on top
And there you have it! We want to see what toppings and flavors you use for your acaí bowl! Be sure to post a photo and tag @chalkfulloflove.
